The laser's light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and turns to heat, which damages the follicle so that it grows less hair.
A follicle has to be in its growing phase to respond, and at any one time only some are. That is why laser hair removal is done as a series of visits, weeks apart.
No treatment can promise that it never will. For many people the results last months or years, and hair that does grow back is often finer and lighter. Some people come for an occasional top-up visit.
It works best where there is contrast between hair and skin. It does not work well on blonde, grey, white or red hair, because there is too little pigment for the light to find. Skin tone decides the settings, so tell Jiman about your skin and any recent sun.
Shave the area the day before. Do not wax, pluck or thread in the weeks before, because the laser needs the root in place.
Come without a tan, self-tan included, and keep the treated skin out of the sun afterwards until it has settled.
