Temporary redness and small bumps around follicles are common. They usually settle within a day or two.
FIRST 24-48 HOURS
- Cool the treated area with a clean, cool compress if needed; avoid ice directly on skin.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, strenuous workouts and excessive sweating.
- Do not scrub, scratch or rub the area. Avoid fragranced products and deodorant if they sting.
- Use a gentle fragrance-free moisturizer or soothing gel if tolerated.
UNTIL SKIN IS CALM
- Avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids, body scrubs and abrasive treatments, typically for 5-7 days.
- Avoid tanning and protect exposed skin with broad-spectrum SPF 30-50.
- Shave only after tenderness settles; do not wax, tweeze or thread between sessions.
- Treated hairs may shed over 1-3 weeks; this is normal.
WHEN TO SEEK HELP
- Contact your provider for concerns. Blistering, burns, severe pain or worsening redness need prompt medical assessment.
IMPORTANT: These are general guidelines. Follow your treating professional and device-specific instructions, especially after deeper or combination treatments. If a product causes stinging or irritation, stop using it and contact your provider.
